smt has continued to invest in the expansion of mechanical production at its Siegen-Weidenau site within the recent months, particularly in the prefabrication and in the welding shop.

Essentially, investments were made here in a large CNC cutting system (plasma and oxyfuel), in a new CNC press brake and in a new guillotine shear. In addition, there was another welding station to supplement the company's own production facilities and a new lath.  

The new CNC cutting system with table dimensions of 6 x 2 m can cut material up to 100 mm thick.

On the press brake and the shear, we can process material up to 3 m wide and bend sheet metal thicknesses of up to 10 mm or cut up to 15 mm. 

With these investments, we are not only expanding our vertical depths of manufacturing, but also increasing flexibility in terms of throughput times and production progress.
